Hello, how is everyone doing these days? I hope you are all well. Recently, I’ve been craving traditional French toast, but as we know, a vegan diet excludes eggs and dairy products. I came across a simple recipe that uses silken tofu as a substitute for eggs. It’s easy to make, and you can find all the ingredients at your local supermarket. Without further ado, let’s get cooking!
Ingredient
4 slices of thick white toast
2 tbsp vegetable oil
150g Soy milk
75g silken Tofu
25g Maple Syrup or Rice Syrup
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp cinnamon
pitch salt
Method
- In the blender, combine soy milk, silken tofu, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt, then blend until smooth.
- Place the thick white toast on the tray or plate, and pour the mixture on it. Let it sit for 30 minutes. Allow the toast to soak in the mix.
- Heat a frying pan over low to medium heat and pour oil into it. Place the toast in the pan and cook for 2 minutes on each side, or until it is golden brown. Repeat this process for the remaining slices of toast.
- I serve with mixed berries comp and some rice syrup or maple syrup
- Enjoy it
