[Main | Sticky Onion And Broccoli Tart]

Hello, how are you these days? In this post, I am going to share a dish that I think you can impress to your friend and family. It gives you a “WOW” effect. It is called Sticky Onion And Broccoli Tart. Please enjoy it. That’s getting cooking!!!!

Ingredient for

4 medium onions, cut into halve across the middle.

50g vegan butter

1 bunch of broccolini

1 tbsp mix herbs

2 tbsp brown sugar

1 sheet of vegan pastry

100ml of water

Salt & Pepper

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C. Place the butter in a 26cm non-stick ovenproof frying pan on medium heat. Pan-fried the onion on both sides for about 5 minutes or light colour. Remove it and set it aside.
  2. Sprinkle the mixed herbs, shake the pan around and some butter if you need to, then add the sugar, and 100ml of water. Place the onion back into the pan, cut side down.
  3. Place the veggie in the gaps, then season generously with sea salt and black pepper. Cover the lid, turn the heat down to low and leave for 10 minutes to soften the veggie slightly, then remove the lid and cook until the liquid starts to caramelise, gently shaking the pan occasionally to stop it from sticking.
  4. Place the pastry over the veggies, using a wooden spoon to push it right into the edges of the pan. Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up (check your oven occasionally, it is because each oven may have a different temperature setting).
  5. To remove it, make sure you are using oven gloves to protect your hands, gently tap and pop a large plate over the pan, and flip it over confidently. Still do it very carefully, the pan is really hot.
  6. I served it with a simple salad with avocado, vinaigrette dressing and Roasted Capsicum.
  7. Enjoy it. !!!!!

This recipe was originally from Jamie Oliver’s cookbook – Veg. Jamie Oliver added some garlic, bay leaves, garlic and balsamic vinegar. I didn’t follow him. Instant I did add the broccolini. I just want to keep it simple and taste the flavour from the ingredient. Have fun with it !!!!!
