Being a vegan, a lot of people ask me “what do I use as an egg substitute”. I also asked myself before I became a vegan “where can I get an egg substitute”. Does it mean I can’t have scrambled eggs, pancakes and frittatas anymore? In baking, eggs act glub agent to keep everything together. Eggs give a puffy texture by trapping air and adding moisture. I have done some research and come up with 6 egg substitutes for cooking. You can find these at your local supermarket.
Ground Linseed / Flax seed

Whisk together 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseeds with 3 tablespoons of water. It makes a jelly-like substance, it is perfect for binding. e.g Vegan burger, fritters
Ground Chia Seeds

Chia seeds are a great breakfast food and are packed full of protein. They are also a fabulous vegan egg alternative. They make a super strong binder. Mix with 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseeds with 3 tablespoons water which is perfect for making burgers and patties.
Tofu

Tofu is one of the best egg alternatives of all time. Tofu can be used in so many dishes such as the vegan breakfast (scrambled tofu with turmeric, frittatas) or vegan dessert (mousse)
Aquafaba

What is Aquafaba? Aquafaba is the liquid from tinned chickpeas. It has a similar texture to egg whites, making brilliant meringues.
Mashed Banana

Bananas are another great egg replacement for baking and pancakes. It is so easy to get to any supermarket.
Apple Sauce

Apple sauce not only acts as a binder but also gives a slightly sweeter vegan egg alternative. The best way is to make your own puree or buy unflavoured and unsweetened applesauce.
Sum up
Hopefully, these 6 Egg Substitutes for cooking can give you some idea if you would like to try some egg-free dishes.
