Before going vegan, try becoming a vegetarian first. This will allow your body to adjust to the change in your diet and make transitioning to a vegan diet easier. You can start reducing your consumption of animal products.

  • Start by eliminating beef and pork. Next, tackle chicken. And finally, fish. you might start by having one meatless day per week, then slowly increase to two or three days per week.
  • Go vegetarian 2 days a week and build up from there.

3. Educate yourself

Learn more about the benefits of a vegan diet and the impact of animal agriculture on the environment, animals, and human health. This will help you stay motivated and committed to your transition.

3.1 Personal Experience

The reason I start the vegetarian journey is that I watched a video about how slaughterhouses treat poultry. The video showed how the birds, cows, and pigs were forced to live in cages with no room to turn around, and their only purpose was to be eaten by humans. In one scene, the video captured a slaughterer cutting a chicken’s neck, and even though the sound was muted, I could feel the chicken’s pain. The slaughterer was indifferent and numb to everything happening around him, suggesting that he had become accustomed to this scene.

After a while, I watched another video about how male chicks do not have a right to live. It is because male chicks are less valuable than female chicks. They got thrown into the grander since they were born. I was so shocked and I thought I am doing the right thing. At that moment, I decide to quit any dairy products.

6.1 Personal Experience

When I decided to become a vegan, the first thing I was worried about is that how or what can I get egg replacement. It is because I need the egg for my breakfast and helping to get my day going. I found that tofu is one of the easy plant-based proteins you can get. So I give myself a one-week trial to see how my body is going to be. It turned went well. There is no discomfort in the body.

To sum up

Here are my 6 tips and personal experience that I would like to share on how do I become a vegan and how do I become a vegan. I hope these tips that can give a general idea of how to prepare yourself. In the end, there is no right or wrong way to become vegetarian or vegan. I think the main thing is that listen to your body and take your time.
